Bollens presents “Cities in Focus: A Space for Freedom and Peace” at Dresden Forum for International Politics

Scott Bollens, UCI professor of urban planning and public policy, and Warmington Chair in Peace and International Cooperation, gave a presentation entitled “Cities in Focus: A Space for Freedom and Peace” at the Dresden Forum for International Politics, held in Dresden, Germany on February 8 - 9, 2018.

Bollens was the only American invitee among experts and officials from Syria, Palestine, Bosnia, Germany, India, and Libya. The international colloquium was sponsored by Germany’s Foreign Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and by the German Free State of Saxony. The Forum’s focus was “Sustaining Peace. Current challenges for democracies”, with an intention to “map out practical strategies in response to the critical challenges that democracies face worldwide, thereby strengthening their contribution to sustaining peace.”
