Course Description - UPPP 5 Introduction to Planning and Policy, Spring 2019, Professor Karna Wong

This undergraduate course explores social and environmental policy issues internationally and in the United States. As the world urbanizes rapidly, globalization connects us economically and socially. In this course, students will examine collective decision making and policy implementation through institutions and stakeholders from the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Students will gain an understanding of public policy and planning issues, theoretical explanations for why they happen, and how to address them. Students will also learn about policy analysis and evaluation on the international, federal, state, and local levels.
